Working with Sales Promotion Agency TBA, MOBi has been awarded the mobile marketing contract from Greene King.
In support of the 6 Nation's Rugby, starting on 1st February, 2007, Greene King will be distributing 3,000,000 scratch cards throughout 3,000 UK pubs. Customers who purchase a pint of Greene King IPA will receive a scratch card to win 1 of over 300,000 instant prizes.
Customers scratch off the panel on the card and either claim an instant
prize over the bar or text GKIPA plus a unique code to 83211. (The MOBi shortcode)
MOBi will select winners at random and return either "Congratulations you have won a ?." or "Unfortunately you are not a winner?.". Winner's names and addresses will be instantly forwarded to the promotions handling house for the prizes to be sent out.
MOBi software will collect all customer numbers for future Greene King promotional announcements.
Q1. How many Scratch cards have been produced?
A1. 3 million cards have been printed
Q2. How many winning tickets are there?
A2. 318,511 prizes are available
Q3. Will our numbers be given to anyone else?
A3. No, Greene King will not be sharing the mobile numbers with anyone else
Q4. Will we be inundated with marketing texts?
A4. No. Greene King may text you in the future to advise you of other promotions at their cost. You can send GKIPA STOP at any time to prevent this.
Q5. How much does the text cost me?
A5. Each text costs 25p plus your normal operator cost. Only 1 text will be sent to you at the 25p cost.
Q6. How will I know if I've won?
A6. Every "Text to Win" winner will be notified by return text message.
Q7. How do I get my prize?
A7. Instant prizes can be claimed over the bar. "Text to Win" prizes will be sent to your home after you have responded to a "you are a winner" text by supplying your name and address. Winners of the top prizes of the VIP day or the match tickets will be contacted by telephone to arrange delivery or collection.
Q8. I sent a text but why didn't I get a reply?
A8. Every text with GKIPA and the unique number sent to 83211 will get an instant reply. If no reply is received it suggests that the text was sent to the wrong number or your message inbox was full or your phone was out of network coverage. In the unlikely event that the mobile networks were very busy, the reply might be delayed. If no reply was received you will not have been charged the 25p. You should check your code and send it now because you could be a winner.
Q9. I received 2 text replies, why and will it cost me 2 x 25p?
A9. If you received 2 replies it is likely that you accidentally press the send button twice.
Q10. Why did I receive a strange text reply after I text in my number?
A10. All texts received for GLIPA at 83211 receive automatic reply messages saying that you have either won a prize or not. If you received something different, it suggests that your text was sent to a number other than 83211 or didn't have GKIPA or the unique number. If you still have your card you could still text GKIPA and your number to 83211 because you might be holding a winning ticket.
Q11. How do I stop future marketing messages?
A. If you send GKIPA STOP to 83211 you will not be charged and you will not receive future marketing messages from Greene King or 83211.
Q12. Are the winning numbers decided in advance?
A12. Winning numbers are selected at random by computer. Every card has an equal chance of winning
Q13. How many prizes are there still to be won?
A13. With many prizes won instantly at the bar, we cannot tell you how many have been won. As the promotion still has x weeks to run it is highly likely that many instant win and "text to win" winning tickets are still to be found.
Q14. Can I enter more than once?
A14. You can enter each time you receive a new scratch card which is given when you purchase a pint of Greene King IPA. The Portman group suggest that you restrict yourself to 2 pints per session which potentially gives you 2 chances to enter each session.
Q15. Can I win more than 1 prize?
A15. Each scratch card has an equal chance of winning so you could win a prize each time to receive one. With over 300,000 prizes for 3 million cards, the chances of winning are roughly 10 to 1.
